Azimut Magellano cruising past a coastal headland

FAQs

Straight answers.

The questions we're actually asked, answered the way we'd answer them across the table.

Buying

Do you publish prices for Azimut yachts?+

No. Every Azimut is specified individually, so configuration, delivery, and pricing are discussed privately, one to one. Request a private consultation and we'll walk you through the range and the numbers directly.

Can I view before committing to anything?+

Yes. Viewings, walkthroughs, and consultations are private, and you decide on your terms in your own time. Sea trials and event invitations are arranged by appointment.

I'm not sure what vessel suits me. Where do I start?+

With a conversation. Tell us how you'll use the boat: cruising grounds, guests, crew or owner-operated, time aboard. We'll give you a straight recommendation across new and brokerage options, and if the right answer is a smaller boat than you expected, we'll say so.

Can you find me a vessel that isn't publicly listed?+

Yes. Register a buyer mandate and we search the market on your behalf, including off-market vessels, then negotiate on your side of the table.

When do the first Sea Water RIBs arrive in New Zealand?+

First delivery timing and New Zealand pricing are being confirmed now. Register your interest to hear as soon as they're set. Build slots are allocated in order of registration.

Selling

What does a vessel appraisal involve, and what does it cost?+

A confidential written appraisal of your vessel's realistic market position, based on inspection, current market activity, and comparable sales. It's an honest valuation, not a number designed to win your listing. The appraisal conversation is free, and what you do with it is entirely up to you.

What is your commission structure?+

Commission is agreed with you up front and set out in writing in your listing agreement before you commit to anything. The figure you sign is the figure at settlement.

Can I sell without publicly listing my vessel?+

Yes. Off-market and discreet sales are standard practice for us. Your vessel is presented privately to qualified buyers only, and your identity is protected throughout.

Why not just list it myself?+

You can, and for some vessels that's the right call. A premium vessel is a different job: getting the price right, presenting the asset properly, and putting only qualified buyers on your decks takes market knowledge and full-time attention. Professional representation typically pays for itself in the final negotiation alone.

Ownership

What does vessel management actually include?+

Scheduled maintenance planning, readiness checks before your time aboard, seasonal preparation, contractor coordination and quality control, marina liaison, and a clear monthly owner report. One account manager, one number to call.

How do you charge for service work?+

Every job is estimated before work begins and approved by you before we start. Work is documented on completion and logged against your vessel's history.

JP Crafts

What does JP Crafts actually build?+

Custom and production RIBs, bespoke tenders, and one-off projects, hand-built in New Zealand since 2016. If it needs to be engineered properly and built to last in real sea conditions, it's our kind of job.

Can you build to my exact specification?+

Yes. That's the point of the custom division. Layout, console, power, materials, and finish are designed around how you'll use the boat, and you're welcome in the workshop while it's in build.

Do you take on refits of boats you didn't build?+

Yes. Refits, structural work, and modifications are a core part of the workshop, whoever built the vessel originally. We'll inspect first and give you a written scope and estimate before any work starts.

How does a build project start, and how long does it take?+

With a conversation about how you'll use the boat. From there you get a written proposal covering design, specification, price, and build programme before you commit to anything. Build time depends on the project, and we'll give you an honest timeframe up front rather than a number designed to win the job.

General

How quickly will someone respond to my enquiry?+

High-value enquiries receive a call within 15 minutes during business hours; everything else is answered the same business day. Every enquiry gets an immediate acknowledgement so you know it landed.

Is my information kept confidential?+

Yes. Discretion is a working condition of this market. Pricing conversations, vendor identities, and client circumstances are not shared, published, or discussed.
